PANAGOPOULOS
Funeral services are pending at West Funeral Home for Penelope (Penny) Panagopoulos, 1717 Sandy Lane, who died Friday in the Carlsbad hospital.
She was born in Greece and came to America in 1948. She received her education in Phoenix, Ariz., and after graduation, she operated her father's clothing store until she and her husband, Pete Panagopoulos, were married in 1961.
At that time, she moved to Carlsbad, and has lived here since. She was a member of Rebecca Lodge, Business and Professional Women, Moose Auxiliary (a charter member), the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, the Greek Orthodox Church and the Salvation Army.
Survivors include: her husband, Pete; two sons, Andreas and Pavlos Panagopoulos; and two daughters, Penny and Dolly Panagopoulos, all of Carlsbad; her mother, Magdalene Papadopoulos, Phoenix; a brother, George Papaddopoulos, Phoenix; and a sister, Athena Constantine, San Diego, Calif.
PANAGOPOULOS
Services for Penelope "Penny" Panagopoulos, 51, 1717 Sandy Lane, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the West Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. The Rev. David Eckley, St. Johns Greek Orthodox Church, Amarillo, Texas, will conduct the service.
Pallbearers will be Tom Martin, M.G. Anderson, Stanley Johnston, Ed Hilbert, Harold Zimmerly and Byrl Blount.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
