Janet M. (Paradis) Barlow, 90, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital, in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late George H. Barlow.
Born in Westport, one of sixteen children, she was the daughter of the late J. Archille and Yvonne (Boucher) Paradis, and lived most of her life in Dartmouth.
Janet had worked as a stitcher in various area clothing mills and later as a home health aide. She loved art and was a collector of Crowell Framed Art from the national gallery. Janet also had a large music collection from the 1940’s- 2000’s.
She is survived by her children, George H. Barlow, Jr. and his companion Gale Williams of Dartmouth, Cameron A. Barlow and his companion Jeanne Fernandes of Acushnet, James J. Barlow and his wife Karen of New Bedford, Rebecca C. Littlewood and her husband Paul of New Bedford, Roxanna S. Simpson and her husband Charles of Wareham and Amber E. Clifford of New Bedford; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; nine great, great grandchildren; a brother, Theodore Paradis of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters, Doris Emond of Freetown and Loretta Conroy of Dartmouth; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Barlow was the grandmother of the late Ian Barlow.

Her funeral service will be in the funeral home followed by interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, New Bedford MA.
