"Mrs. Lulu Fortner died at her residence on Caillavet street near Chartres yesterday morning at 3:30 o'clock after an illness of sometime. She was born in Pensacola, Fl, and was a resident of this city for eight years and leaves a mother and eight children. She was 38 years old. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock".
Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 3, page 103: Lula lived at 1027 Anglada Alley on Back Bay when she died from small pox. Her father was from Butler Co., Ky, and her mother was from Baldwin Co., Al.
NOTE:
Lulu had apparantly just given birth as her baby, also named Lula, died in October, 1912, at age of 9 months.
