Okolona-Lela Erin Allen, 80, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethany Church of God of Prophecy, where she was actively involved with her seniors group. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 am Friday at the Bethany Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Eugene Thornton and Bro. Edwin Pharr officiating. Burial will be in East Chickasaw Memorial Gardens. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Melba Brooks and Eddie of Okolona, and Norma Chandler of Plantersville; a son, Harvey Dean Allen and Dawn of Okolona; two sisters, Clarice Spradling of Bruce and Louise Ferguson of Cleveland; a brother, Sam Parker and Thelma of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren, Denise Gregory and Alan, Michelle Hester and D.J., Dean Allen and Natalie, Catherine Long and Josh, and Anthony Chandler; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elkin Allen; her parents, Forrest Dean and Allie D. Parker; and a daughter, Martha Allen.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Chandler, Alan Gregory, Dean Allen, Josh Long, D.J. Hester and Aaron McCollum.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
