MRS. RILLA ANN BAILLEY [BAILEY] passed away peacefully Sunday the 18 at her home in East Paris. Deceased was born in Washtenaw county, Michigan in 1838. She came as a child with her parents, MR. and MRS. JACOB PATTERSON and her life has been spent here. She first married FRANK BRUCE who in two years died and left her a widow with one daughter. Five years later she married E.A. BAILLEY [BAILEY] with whom she lived until her death. Mrs. Bailey was one of the early pioneers and faithfully has she performed her duty as wife and mother. She was widely known and greatly respected. Afflicted with a lingering illness which was known from the first to be incurable which she patiently bore. She knew, "no cross no crown," "Not my will but Thine be done."

She leaves an aged husband, three daughters and one son. MRS. NETTIE WHITNEY and MRS. IDA SOPER of Grand Rapids and WIEGER with whom she lived at the time of her death. Life's fitful fever over she rests.

MRS. RITA ANN BAILEY, aged 71, wife of A.E. BAILEY, a Paris township pioneer, died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, MRS. A.M. WEEGER of Paris township. Surviving her are three daughters, MRS. NETTIE WHITNEY and MRS. IDA MINER of Grand Rapids, and MRS. WEEGER and a son, WILLIAM BAILEY of Grand Rapids. The funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the East Paris Congregational church. Interment in Oak Grove cemetery.
