Edith Mary Martinson, 81, of Hayward, died Friday, Dec. 5, at Valley Health Care Center in Hayward.

She was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Stanberry, Wis., the daughter of John and Junia (Johnson) Pfister. She was known as a kind, loving, giving person who lived by God’s will. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward.

Survivors include her children, Ernest, Laurn and David Martinson, all of Hayward, and Trudy Martinson, of Eau Claire, Wis.; three grandchildren, Lisa Czaplinski, Jenny (Donald) Logslett and David Paul (Krista) Martinson; seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Aaron and Eden Logslett, Mitchell, Michael and Megan Martinson, and Samuel Czaplinski; two sisters, Vivian (Warren) Ogren of Hayward and Alma Wallace of St. Paul, Minn.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Desmond; two brothers and six sisters.

Funeral: Mass of the Christian Burial was conducted, Wednesday, Dec. 10, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hayward, with the Rev. Bill Green officiating.

Burial: St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery, Springbrook.
