Dorothy Pflueger Bennett, 77, of Bartlett passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Primacy Healthcare. She was a retired medical technologist from LeBonheur Children's Hospital after 22 years of service and the Regional Medical Center after 11 years of service, was a graduate of the University of Memphis where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, and was a member of Raleigh Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was also the director of Prison Ministries and loved to sing. Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Roger M. Bennett; sons, Ted Bennett (Suzanne) of Brentwood, TN, Todd Bennett of Radcliff, KY and Tory Bennett of Bartlett, TN; brother, Louis D. Pflueger of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Austin, Connor, Todd, Jr., Tyler, Michael, Morgan and Taylor Bennett, Tabitha and Hannah White; nephews, Jonny, Steve and Danny Pflueger. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 2, 2014 and a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 3, 2014 both at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to Help Industries for the continuation of the prison ministry program through Raleigh Seventh Day Adventist Church.
