"Mrs. Irma Phelps Allen of Flint, Michigan, passed away at her home Monday evening at 11:25 o'clock, according to a message received by her sister, Mrs. Everett Culling of Utica. Mrs. Allen had been bedfast since April and in July submitted to an operation for the removal of a brain tumor, which was unsuccessful.
Mrs. Allen, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. T. G. Phelps, was born and reared in Chillicothe. She was a graduate of the Chillicothe High School and was also a registered nurse, having received her training in a Kansas City hospital.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Frances Millard, and a son, Thomas Allen, of Flint; one grandson, Charles Millard; and three sisters, Mrs. Cecil Nichols of Kansas City, Mrs. Fannie Holt of Newtown and Mrs. Octavia Manning of Los Angeles.
