Gilda "Gena" (Pio) Brisbois, 93, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 24, 2014. She was born in Springfield, MA on October 17, 1920 to Michael and Concetta (Ottavio) Pio. She lived in Springfield most of her adult life with her beloved husband, James, until they retired to Enfield, CT. Gilda worked for many years at Young and Young, Inc. in downtown Springfield and in later years at Somers Food Center in Somers, CT. Her husband James N. Brisbois died January 5, 2008. Gilda leaves her children, Michael Brisbois and his wife Shirley of Chicopee and Michele Folkins and her husband Jeffrey of Enfield, her sister, Henrietta Foisy of Enfield and brother, Pasquale Pio of Somers, CT and grandchildren Gina Samara and her husband Nate and Nicholas Brisbois. She was predeceased by her sister Angelina Russo. The funeral for Gilda will be held Thursday morning at 11 from Tazzini Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Longmeadow Cemetery.
