Former Manistique resident, Margaret Laverne Abrahamsen, 95, of Appleton, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on October 15, 2014 at the Theda Care Hospice Residence in Appleton.
She was born January 8, 1919 in Rudyard, Michigan the daughter of Louis and Margaret Pointer and was a graduate of Manistique High School with the Class of 1937.
On July 22, 1938 the former Margaret L. Pointer married Richard K. Abrahamsen in Rapid River, MI. In 1953 they moved to Wisconsin and in 1983 they retired to Winter Haven, Florida. Margaret moved back to Wisconsin in 2001 to be near her children.
Margaret is survived by her children, Kay (Ron) Schulze of Menasha, WI, Connie (Doug) Russell of Green Bay, WI, and Ken Abrahamsen of Fitchburg, WI; brother, Roy (Dottie) Pointer of Appleton, WI; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy and Pat; and her brother, Bud.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Fairview Cemetery in Manistique. Officers of the Ida Chapter #54, O.E.S. will conduct the graveside ritual.
