Betty Ruth Powers Polly, 77 passed away on Wednesday, December 3 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She will be laid to rest beside her loving husband of 58 years.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2014 in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Pastor Rod Payne, officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Inspiration at Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 in the evening on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the funeral home.

Betty was born April 6, 1937 in Carnegie, Oklahoma. She was the 12th of 13 children born to Samuel Powers and Betty (Anderson) Powers. She married John Polly in Carnegie Oklahoma in 1956. They moved to Wichita Falls in 1957. Betty began working as a salesperson at Sears in Wichita Falls in 1969 and retired there in 1999. She loved playing golf with her husband and the Lady's Golf Association. She was a seamstress and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John. She was the last surviving sibling of 13 children including, Alfredgray, Simmy, Albert,
Raymond, Ruben, Gene, Jim, Mattie May, Doretta, Dorothy, Katherine, and Barbara.

Betty is survived by three children Tena Sturges and her husband Larry; Cheryl Polly; and Greg Polly and his wife Dana. She had 5 grandchildren whom she adored, Ian Sturges, Blair Polly, Loran Polly, Jonathon Sturges, and Tara Fowler. She had 5 great grandchildren, Tucker Sturges, Ashton Sturges, Cooper Fowler, Cason Fowler and Connor Fowler. She is survived by Karen Siber and Mark Siber among several other nieces and nephews. Betty loved her border collie Rusty who has not left her side. She loved her family dearly and she will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.
