Jacqueline Guthrie (Valle), 85, of Houston Texas lost her long battle with a chronic illness on October 5. She was born November 17, 1925 in Dallas Texas to Stella Ashton and Troy Polly. She lived in East Houston since 1947. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in the 1970s. In the early 1950s she traveled with her husband to work in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Illinois, California, Florida and various towns in Texas with her husband James Clark Guthrie, Jr. She was taught History by the late President, Lyndon Baines Johnson. She loved fashion, old movies, Big Band music, and her pets. She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Guthrie. Preceding her in death was her husband, James Clark Guthrie, Jr. son Darren Guthrie, and parents. Visitation will be Monday, October 10, 2011, 1pm. The funeral service will follow at 2pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Interment Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
