Annie Pamelia (Porter) Ainsworth was the daughter of Nelson B. and Fidelia (Dixon) Porter of the Lehigh District, southeast of Pulaski, New York. She was educated in the Valley Seminary and Pulaski Academy. She married Danforth E. Ainsworth in 1874 at Waterloo, Iowa, where she was then teaching school. The Annie P. Ainsworth Memorial Library in Sandy Creek, New York is named in her honor. Prior to his death, Mr. Ainsworth transferred his personal library of more than 2,000 volumes to the library.
