Mrs. Miller, 83, School Teacher, Fort Plain - A service for Mrs. Catherine P. Miller, 83, a retired teacher, will be conducted tomorrow. Mrs. Miller, of 298 Main St., died Wednesday night at Palatine Nursing Home following a long illness. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Palatine Bridge High School and attended teachers training class at Oneonta Normal School. She tought for 32 years at Freys Bush and Nelliston schools before retiring in 1958. She attended the United Methtodist church of Fort Plain and was a member of the Afternoon Circle at the church. Her first husband, Jay Sponable, whom she married in 1921, died in 1955. Survivors include her husband, Harry Miller, whom she married in 1958; a son, Richard Sponable of Amsterdam; a daughter, Mrs. Valerie Erhardt of Fort Plain; a stepson, Leonard Miller of Hinsdale, IL, 3 sisters, Mrs. Agnes Watson of Palatine Bridge Rd, Mrs. Alberta Nellis of Palatine Bridge and Mrs. Gertrude Jump of Canajoharie; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The service will be conducted at 2pm tomorrow in the Swartz Funeral Home, 34 Center St. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm today. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid-County Ambulance Corps.
