FAIRMONT - A Mass of Christian Burial for Delores E. Johnson, 75, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fairmont.

Delores passed away Sunday afternoon, May 20, 2012, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa.
Delores Elaine (Prom) Johnson was born Sept. 18, 1936, in St. Peter, Minn., the daughter of Nicholas and Alma (Puffpaff) Prom. Delores grew up in rural St. Peter and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1955. On June 25, 1960, Delores was united in marriage to Harland Johnson in St. Peter and they made their home in Fairmont where they raised four children, Diane, Lynn, Anita and Dale. Delores worked at Stokely Van Camp then Armour Foods - Fairmont Foods. She retired in May of 1997. Delores and Harland enjoyed wintering in Arizona the past 15 years. Some of the things Delores enjoyed doing in her spare time included: gardening and canning, fishing and camping, dancing with Harland, spending time with her family and she loved to be around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Over the years, Delores was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Fairmont Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Those who will cherish her memory include her husband, Harland Johnson of Fairmont; four children, Diane Weihe and her husband, Steve, of Omaha, Neb., Lynn Johnson and his wife, Lyn, of Fairmont, Anita Grunst and her husband, Thomas, of Nicollet, Dale Johnson and his wife, Connie, of North Mankato; eight grandchildren, Sheena Weihe (David Sharp), Shannon (Brian) Butler, Tyler Weihe, Carisa (Cory) Andersen, Leigha Johnson (Samuel Stone), Mykala Johnson, Christopher and Dalton Johnson; three great grandchildren, Kylan and Colsan Andersen, Lucas Johnson; sister, Catherine Pfarr of LeSueur; brother, Eugene Prom and his wife, Judy, of New Prague; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Karon Johnson of Fairmont, Bernyce Ziemer of Fairmont and Melva Willaby of Ft. Mill, S.C.; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and parents-in-law, Delores was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and four brothers-in-law.
