Janet Day Pruden Bright, age 64, of Mena, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at her home. She was born Sunday, July 18, 1948, to James Earl, Jr. and Jeraldine Day Pruden in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Janet graduated from Hope High School, and attended the University of Kansas and the University of Texas before receiving a Home Economics degree from Louisiana Tech University and an accounting degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Janet finished her education by receiving a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University Law School. She served on the Law Review for Seton Hall University Law School and was very proud of this achievement. Janet practiced law in New Jersey before retiring to Mena.
Janet loved reading and learning. She also enjoyed her cats, quilting, knitting, and cross-country skiing. Janet was a loving sister, aunt and friend and will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jimmy Pruden and one nephew, Jim Pruden.

Janet is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Frank Godbold of Hot Springs Village; her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Twyla Pruden of Hope; three nephews: Bill Godbold of Benton, Tim Godbold and wife Suzanne of Bryant, and Isaac Pruden of Hope; and one great-nephew, Cooper Godbold of Bryant.

The burial will take place at a later date at the Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, Ohio.

Cremation services entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home of Mena.
