Windsor, VT - Eleanor Roberts Pruden Wishinski, 90, died Saturday November 26th at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a brief illness. She was born August 15, 1921 in Mineola Hospital, New York, the first child of James Stover Pruden and Harriet Barbanell Pruden. She and her sister, Elva (Weenie) attended Hempstead High School. Eleanor went on to graduate from Hofstra University in 1943. In 1939 her parents purchased the old Cabot Farm on Rose Hill in West Windsor, Vermont where she and her sister, aunts, uncles and cousins spent many happy summer holidays. After her parent's death, she went to Vermont to visit the farm. There she met her beloved husband, Edward Wishinski. They were married September 20, 1947 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Windsor, Vermont and enjoyed 39 years together. She taught biology at Hartford High School for 20 years. She loved to garden, cook, sew, do genealogy and stay in touch with her dear friends and family by phone, letters and the internet. She is predeceased by her husband Edward, sister Elva (Weenie) Bauer and Elva's husband, Kenneth Bauer. Survivors include her sons James and Edward of Windsor, Vermont; daughter Patricia, her husband George Nelson and grand son Edward Nelson of Windsor; niece Holly Bauer of Florida; nephew Michel Wishinski of Windsor and cousins Marjean Lydon of Laconia, NH and Edward Barbanell of Spain. At her request, there will be no memorial or funeral services. A private service of family and friends will be held at a later date of the family's discretion. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Windsor Public Library, 43 State Street, Windsor, VT 05089.
