PRUDEN, Hazel E., 75, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011. She retired as a supervisor from Life of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Pruden Jr.; her brother, J. Bruce Sims; her sister, Mary L. Tate; and her loving niece, Rebecca Sims. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bohannon and her husband, Eddie; her son, Steve Pruden and his wife, Patsy; two grandsons, Charlie and Cody; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clyde Sims, Stuart Sims, Tom Sims Bubby Sims; two sisters, Thelma Spivey and Shirley Pruden; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and her constant canine companion, Brooke. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., where a funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad.
