ELEANOR LUIA Entered peacefully into rest in San Leandro on May 5, 2004. She was 55 years old. Born in Gustine, CA, Eleanor had worked as a cook for St. Luke's Extended Care for over 25 years. Known for her devotion to her family, she was always giving unto others. She enjoyed bowling, taking side-trips to Reno, family picnics and trips to the beach in Santa Cruz. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Eleanor is survived by her husband, Albert Luia, of San Leandro; children, Leilani Luia of Stockton and Robert Luia of San Leandro; mother Esperanza Diaz of Newman; sisters, Dora Rodriguez of Newman, Esther Garcia of Delano and Lidia Banuelos of Ceres; brothers, Michael Quiroga of Bakersfield, Domingo Quiroga of Phoenix, AZ, Porfirio Diaz of Phoenix, AZ, and Moises Diaz of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by six grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family. Visitation for Eleanor will be on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim's Church, 1121 Main Street, Newman, CA. She will be laid to rest at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman.
