Helen Catherine Raulston Allen was born 1 September 1921 in Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri to Athel Atwood Raulston and Nell Cown. She served as an Aviation Machinist's Mate Third Class, USN stationed at Sand Point Naval Air Station in Washington State during WWII doing R&R on the PBY's that were brought down from Alaska. Following the war, she moved to California where she met and married Harmon A. Allen 2 November 1947 in Concord, Contra Costa County. To heir union two children were born, a boy and a girl each to the day sharing a birthday a year apart. They reared their family in the towns of Port Chicago and Concord. Following Harman's retirement, they moved to Yreka in Siskiyou County, California where they lived until failing health facilitated their return to the Bay Area to be cared for. Helen passed away 24 June 2004 in Oakland, Alameda County, California and her ashes are interred in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.

In loving memory of Helen Catherine Raulston Allen, who passed away in Oakland at the age of eighty-two. She is survived by her husband, Harman A. Allen, a son, David A. Allen and his wife, Cindy, daughter, Barbara G. Miao and her husband, Paul, granddaughters, Stacey, Tai-An, and Cary Miao, and grandsons, David Jr, Michael, Jordan, and Daniel Allen. She also leaves three brothers and a sister. Helen was a Navy Veteran of WWII. A family memorial service and interment will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
