Cathryn Allison Lowrey, 84, of Encinitas died Friday. She was born in Spokane, Wash, and was a teacher with the San Diego Unified School District. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a volunteer with Alvarado Damas.

Survivors include her daughters, Cathryn Crimmins of Coupeville, Wash, and Carol Hippert of San Marcos; son, Lloyd of Santee; brother, Charles Read of Auburn; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
