Survivors include her husband, Norman Red Bear, Scottsbluff; five sons, Howard Red Bear, Herold Red Bear, Norman Red Bear Jr., and Phillip Joe Red Bear, all of Scottsbluff, and Albert Salomon, Allen, S.D.; five daughters, Elizabeth Waters, Martin, S.D., Maryann Red Bear, Alliance, Patricia Red Bear, Tucson, Ariz., and Ramona Red Bear and Amber Red Bear, both of Killeen, Texas; 37 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A two-night wake service began at noon Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Old Red Bear residence in Allen.
A second night wake began at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Inner Cultural Center in Scottsbluff. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Guadalupe Church in Scottsbluff, with the Rev. Daryl Red Cloud and the Rev. Meek officiating and traditional Lakota services by Phillip Waters. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, S.D., is in charge of arrangements.
