Georgene was the 2nd of three daughters born to George H. and Fora Lee Edwards Reed at their ranch close to Miles, Texas. When Georgene was 7, her father died unexpectedly of pneumonia. Aunt Flora moved with the 3 children back to her parents' (JB and Esta Edwards) ranch west of Tatum, NM where Flora had lived until marrying her husband. Georgene's mother, Flora was my Grandma Cora's twin.
