Charlotte Lynette Allen (Lynn) passed away quietly in her home in Orangevale on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 with family members by her side. Daughter of Charlotte Reeve of Sacramento (dec.). Loving wife of Ralph Allen and mother of Carla White and Brenda Allen of Sacramento, beloved sister of Kathryn Motz and William Donovan of Sacramento, grandmother of Amy White, Erica White, Hannah Walker, and Garrett Allen of Sacramento. Lynn was born and raised in Sacramento and lived there her whole life. She married her husband Ralph in 1966 and they stayed together for 47 years and raised their two children, Carla and Brenda. In approximately 1983, she began a 28-year career as an Administrative Secretary at Aerojet General in Rancho Cordova, retiring in 2011. She was well-liked by her colleagues who appreciated her honesty, her candid sense of humor, and her sharp wit. Lynn was strongly dedicated to the cause of animal welfare, and rescued and cared for countless animals in her lifetime. Lynn loved her family unconditionally. She gave freely of herself so that others might benefit and expected nothing in return. Your time with us was too short; we are relieved your struggle is over but we will miss you forever. You touched our lives in ways we may not even understand, but your love was always there. Even though you're gone, those of us who were fortunate enough to know you feel your love is with us still. Friends and family are invited to a service Thursday September 26 at 11 am at Carmichael Presbyterian Church 5645 Marconi Avenue Carmichael. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in memory of Lynn to The Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation.
