TIPTON, Iowa - Marilyn June Reeve Ailey, 85, of Tipton, Iowa, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Memorial services will be held Monday, May 7, 2012, 11 a.m. at First United Church of Christ, Tipton. Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will occur at a later date in Marysville, Pa. A memorial fund to the First United Church has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

Marilyn was born on June 4, 1926, in Tipton, to Dale Ransom and Florence Edith Titman Reeve. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1944 and graduated in 1948 from the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. Marilyn worked as a school teacher, was a secretary for International Harvester Corporation, worked for many years for Sears, and lastly worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the Board of Probation and Parole. Marilyn was very active in whatever she became involved with, including the First United Church of Christ and the Tipton Lions Club. Marilyn returned to Tipton in 2001 after spending many years living in Pennsylvania.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Valerie Traurig of Bethesda, Md., and Kathy Kronicz-Peacock of York Haven, Pa.; sister, Beverly Fitch of Tipton; brother, Jack (June) Reeve of Tipton; and grandchildren, Jared and Zachary. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Robert Traurig, Dale Waddell and Dwayne Ailey, sisters, Marjorie Barnes, Dorothy Albaugh, and Eldora Miller, and brothers, Delbert, Robert, James and Paul.
