Leola (Lee) Reeve Abbott of Centerville, PA passed away Wednesday, June 3, at the Sayre Care Center in Sayre, PA following a brief illness.

She was born in Herrickville, PA, September 30, 1919, to Charles Reeve Sr. and Aliph Waterman Reeve. She was the 7th of nine children. She had brothers George, Ward, Carl, Jesse and Charles, Jr, and sisters Alpha, Medie and Ruth, all who have preceded her in death. A son Gerald also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Herbert Abbott of Centerville, PA; a daughter Judy Manchester of Rockport, MA; a son Gene and his wife Doreen of Elmira, NY; grandchildren Jeff Haight and his wife Michele of Warren Center; Rae Lynne Powell of Dover, Ohio; Lesha Haight Miller and her husband Matt of Loiusville, KY; Brett Powell and his wife Lorri of Centerville, PA; Michael Haight and his wife Rhonda of Rockville, VA; Philip Haight and his wife Tammy of Gilbert, AZ and Matt Manchester of Austin, TX. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild, a sister in law, Anna Mae Reeve of Sayre, PA as well as several nieces and nephews.

For over forty years Leola and her husband Herbert operated the Tomahawk Restaurant along Route 17 in Lowman, NY and for several years the Tomahawk Restaurant in North Towanda, PA. Lee was best known by her family, friends, and patrons for her quick wit and friendly smile. She loved the restaurant business and was proud of her Native American heritage, as was evident by the name of her restaurants and Native American décor. She enjoyed the outdoors, and deer hunting was her passion. She also loved small game hunting and took pride in teaching her grandchildren how to use a gun and to hunt. Several of her conquests were sent to a taxidermist and hang on the walls of her home.

She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed a wide circle of friends through her business, church and community. She will be sorely missed.

Family and friends are invited to call Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. He memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 8, 2015 at the funeral home with Reverend Lynn Ensign of the Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church officiating.

Memorials in her memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or to a charity of one’s choice.
