Mrs. Ruth Reeve Arnold, Squiresville resident, died 3:20 a.m., Sunday, December 23, at Owen County Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

A native of Owen County, the daughter of Charles and Azilee Morgan Reeve, she was a member of the Squiresville Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the W.M.U., a former member of Squiresville Homemakers, a dedicated writer and historian, and was a correspondent for the News-Herald for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Ira L. Arnold, of seventy years; two daughters, Eleanor Ogden, Hopkinsville, and May Blanchard, Tuscon, Ariz.; two sons, I. Lee Arnold, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Dr. C.C. Arnold, Owenton; a daughter, Guy Reeve, Squiresville, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Monday, at Owen Funeral Service, Seminary Street with Rev. William McGibney and Joe Arnold officiating. Burial was in the Squiresville Cemetery.
