Genevieve C. ( Ricci) Aseltine,86, of Marlborough, MA, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at her home. A lifelong Marlborough resident, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Lydia ( Muri) Ricci and the wife of Richard Aseltine of Marlborough, to whom she had been married for the past 53 years. A graduate of Marlborough High School and Burdett College, Boston,Genny had been employed as a secretary at the Hillside School, Marlborough and Rockport Shoe, from which she retired in 1993. She was a member and former Chaplain of the ITAM Club, Auxiliary Post 45, a member of the DAV Aux., Friends of the Marlborough Public Library, Friends of the Marlborough Seniors and an associate member of the USS William R. Rush D.R. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Gary P. Smith and his wife Magill, of Amesbury, Michael A. Smith of Marlborough and Richard H. Aseltine and his wife Penny of Marlborough, her grandchildren, Evan Smith, Kerry Smith and Christopher Wellborn and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 9:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough. Visiting hrs. will be held on Thursday, December 6 from 4-7 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA.
