Rhonda Campbell Caribou 100. Passed away peacefully Tuesday 2-19-2008 at Winship Green Nursing Center in Bath. She was born 7-21-1907 in Mars Hill the daughter of Albert and Effie (Wright) Rideout. She was a Caribou resident all her life until 2005, when she moved to Bath to live with her daughter and son in law. She worked at J.J. Newberry, Maine Potato Bag Co., where she was a floor lady, Washburn Taterstate, McCains and retired from Agway. She was a member of the United Baptist Church of Caribou and attended Caribou schools. Until her health deteriorated in recent years, she was an avid gardener and loved to work with flowers, both indoors and in her garden. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making quilts for her grandchldren, slip covers for her porch furniture and clothing for herself and family members. She loved music, especially Gospel and the old hymns of the church. This was very evident as she often either sang or hummed them. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and "going south" to Bath during the winter months. She enjoyed the snow, especially when it first fell. She would take pictures of the falling snow and playful squirrels running around. She also enjoyed watching the birds at the birdfeeder next to her window as well as the groundhog coming out early in the morning to feed on the lush grass laden with dew in the summertime. She enjoyed taking rides in the car visiting many of the state parks, Lands Ends, the countryside and the ocean especially when the seals were hunting for fish. She would often say, there is so much to see. She really enjoyed going to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor as well as Camden State Park, where she could see the entire town of Camden and the ocean with it's many pleasure and fishing boats from the top of the mountain. Living as long as she did, she was able to share many memories with the family, things we would not have known about otherwise. She was predeceased by her husband, Emery Campbell, a daughter, Norma, sisters, Myrtle, Eva, Pearl, Clara and Mabel, 2 brothers, Albert and Warren. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy and her husband, Robert Paul of Bath, a granddaughter, Constance and her husband, Michael Fletcher of Richmond, a grandson, Michael and his wife, Priscilla Paul of Richmond, 4 great grandchldren, 4 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
