Following an attack on the German lines, on the 18th.July, the Battalion war diary entry for the 19th., indicated CASUALTIES of :- 3 Officers Killed and 2 wounded,
35 Other Ranks KILLED, 115 Wounded and 8 suffering from Shell Shock.
Berie was confirmed as one of those Killed.
