Ellen Elizabeth Bailey, 79, of Ladson, wife of Levey "Jack" William Bailey, died Friday, January 9, 2004, at her residence.

Funeral service will be held Monday, January 12, 2004, at 2 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will be in Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 until 8 o'clock this evening. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Hospice Care of Choice, 410 Mill Street, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464.

Mrs. Bailey was born September 18, 1924, in Savannah, Ga., a daughter of the late John Roddy and Elizabeth Roddy.

She was a graduate of Moultrie High School, Mt. Pleasant. She retired from Berkeley County and Charleston County School District.

She was a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are: her daughters, Gloria Elizabeth Mills and her husband, Jimmy of North Charleston, Jackie Bailey Rourk of Aiken, Jill Bailey Henry and her husband Thomas of Ladson, Judie Bailey Richardson and her husband John of Jedburg; brother, John M. Roddy of Fort Thomas, Ky.; grandchildren, Benny Shaw of Tega Cay, Franky Shaw of Sumter, Margaret Quinn of Goose Creek, Will and Elle Rourk of Aiken, Tommy and Elizabeth Henry of Ladson, Johnathan and Joshua Richardson of Jedburg, five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother, H.F. Fisher of Chiefland, Fla.
