Patty A. Adam, 87, passed away Thursday, October 27th, in Abilene. She was born July 1. 1929 in Sylvia, Kansas, the daughter of Lawrence A. and Mary Etta (Kaufman) Roof. Growing up in Abilene, Patty was raised by Leroy and Opal Hoffman, attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1947. In 1947 She was married to Gene Annis, later divorcing. In 1970 she was married to Fred Adam, he preceded her in death in 1983. Patty had lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1952 until returning to Abilene in 1968. She had been employed by Westinghouse in Salina. Patty enjoyed bowling and playing golf. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, Leroy Hoffman Jr. and a grandson, Derek Swarts. Patty is survived by: two daughters, Dianne (Scott) Carnahan of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Cynthia Swarts of Abilene; son, Steven (Tess) Annis of Lakewood, Colorado; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Gene (Cindy) Hoffman of Abilene and step daughter, Vickie Schmit of Abilene.The family has chosen cremation. The family will receive friends 5:30 - 6:30 PM Friday, November 4th, at the Danner Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials in her name be made to the Dickinson County Home Health and Hospice. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.
