The Gadsden Times, August 11, 2009
Our precious mother and dearest friend, Mildred Augusta Rose Belotti, 93, Webster's Chapel, (adoringly called "Gussie" and "Polly" by her loving family and friends) went home to be with her beloved Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009. She was always giving of herself and her time to others and her greatest desire was to make any and everyone welcome, loved and well-fed in her home. Her unconditional love and hospitality had no bounds. She was an avid gardener as well as a great Italian cook and loved all flowers, trees and enjoyed all of God's creation and creatures. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Edna Rose; her former husband, Louis T. Belotti; brother, sisters and in-laws, Nye and Beatrice Rose, Loraine and Curry Strange, Vesta and George Urso, Betty Jean and Johnny Estes, Ernest Tallent and Jerry Stone; and grandson, Michael Conklin. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Rheba Long; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and John Conklin, who have been her dedicated, loyal and loving caregivers for the last few years; her faithful, beloved pet, "Twinkles"; grandchildren, Darin (Kim) Long, David (Lea) Long, Johnny (Cheryl) Conklin and Matthew Conklin; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Rachel Conklin, Bradley Conklin, Jackson Long and Will Bowling; sisters, Arlene Tallent and Joann Stone and numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family, Karen (Steve) Boos, Sharon (Eddie) Brooks, Jeff (Marcey) Simpson, Jim (Wendy) Simpson, Jay (Emily) Simpson and families. Pallbearers will be Darin and David Long, Matthew Conklin, James Strange, David and Charles Estes. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy and Joey Urso and Edward Gene Strange. A very special thank you from the family to Connie Ledbetter, Stephanie Cox, Frances Jeffers and Chaplain Richard Bradford and to each and everyone for your visits, food, thoughts and especially your prayers. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 tonight at Village Chapel Funeral Home. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Village Chapel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ray Lowery officiating and burial in Mountainview Cemetery, Webster's Chapel. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge.
