She was preceded in death by her father, Julian Rose; father-in-law, David Massengale; and grandparents, Frank and Tommie Rose and Ed W. and Lenora Earnest.
She is survived by her husband, Ryan Massengale of Northport, Ala.; daughters, Ashley Cobb and Saige Massengale both of Northport, Ala.; brother, William Rose of Denver, Col.; parents, Rodney and Beverly Etheridge of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; mother-in-law, Connie Massengale; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Melissa was truly loved by her husband, her daughters, and family. She was a great wife to her husband and a great mother to her children. Though Melissa has passed, her love will always be felt. She and her husband took their vows of "through sickness and health" to heart. She always stood by him, and he always stood by her. She will be missed.
This morning, as family and friends gathered to reminisce about Melissa's life, so many descriptive words and phrases came to mind. Melissa was beautiful, inside and out. She made people feel special. She was a comedian; she was vivacious, joyful, happy, and bouncy. She never met a stranger. She was sweet. She was a drama queen. She had a beautiful smile. She was loyal, and she adored her family.
On Friday afternoon, before Melissa passed away, God displayed the most beautiful rainbow across the sky and the family thinks it was a perfect reminder of the way she touched our lives with vibrancy and color! We thank God for her life!
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Manderson Cancer Center.
