Greensboro, Ruth Nelson went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday evening,March 24, 2013, at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. she was a longtime resident of Greensboro. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Josh Carmichael officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro chapel directing.
She was truly the virtuous woman spoken of in Proverbs 31:10-29. she taught Sunday School at Greensboro Baptist Church for over 25 years and served on many committees at Greensboro Presbyterian Church. she loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. she was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed sewing and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Malvin and Thelma Rose; one sister, Betty Meigs; and one brother, Malvin Rose Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Nelson; children, Joanne Landolt Crawford of Evansville, Ind., Bobby Landolt (Jan) of Greensboro, and David Landolt (Lisa) of Coker;
Survived by two sisters, Pat Vail and Margaret Ryan (Jimmy) one brother, Kenneth Rose (Susan); many nephews and nieces; and longtime caregiver, Dorothy Jones.
