Born Feb. 24, 1934 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Homer and Famie Carpenter Rowe. She was married Oct. 5, 1963 in Winamac to Harold W. Bitterling, who died Aug. 16, 1984. She had lived in the Winamac area most of her life.
She was formerly a certified nursing aide at Pulaski Memorial Hospital and the Pulaski Health Care Center.
Surviving are one daughter, Barbara A. Foster, Macy ; one son, Steven Panici, Star City; one step-daughter, Judy Markley, Winamac; two step-sons, Jerry Bitterling, Logansport and Jay Bitterling, Winamac; four sisters, Marrie Gibson, Alberta Fletcher and Melovie Witaker, all of Knox and Jean Polen, Lucerne; three brothers, Maxic Rowe, Kentucky, Jesse Rowe, Lapaz, and Seldon Rowe, Plymouth; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren.
Burial in the Winamac Cemetery.
