REBECCA J. "BECKY" AYERS, 59, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007. She was born on Aug. 29, 1947, in Anderson. She was a graduate of Anderson High School and attended Ball State University. She worked for Independent Federal Credit Union for 28 years where she retired as Vice President. Moving to Fort Wayne in 1999, she volunteered for two years at the Civic Theatre working backstage with set design, where she was awarded outstanding Theatre Technician. She worked three years at the Million Story Book Company (Little Professor). She was a member of Southwest Lutheran Church and had served on staff and the Board of Directors. She was involved in small group, greeters and also led the group Empty Nesters at Southwest. She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Ayers of Fort Wayne; parents, Ralph and Mavis Rowe of Anderson; daughter, Kari (Dan) Fagin of Mason, Ohio; sister, Terri (Dan) Hallenbeck of Fort Wayne; son, John (Trang) Ayers of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Julia Thompson of Cottonwood, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Jackie (Malcom) Bender of Fort Wayne; mother-in-law, Virginia Chivington of Fort Wayne; and nine grandchildren. Private services at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Preferred memorials to Cancer Services of Allen County
