Sally Ann Beery, 84, went home to her heavenly reward on Tuesday, March 14, 2016. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI, Sally, along with her parents moved to Fort Wayne in 1948. She graduated from South Side High School in 1950. It was at South Side where she met the love of her life Bill. They were married on March 10, 1951. When Bill went off to serve in the military, Sally started her working career at Central Soya. Upon his return from Germany, she moved to various locales around the country as an avid supporter of Bill's baseball career with the Chicago Cubs minor league baseball organization. Resettling in Fort Wayne, Sally was a homemaker and raised her two children Randy and Cindi. She also began a long career in the retail fashion industry, first at Patterson-Fletchers, then with L.S Ayres/Macy's, and Chico's. It was with her sense of style and ready smile that she assisted her many customers. Along with Bill, Sally was a founding member of Sonrise Methodist Church where she served her Lord in many volunteer activities over the years and was actively involved with her Life Group. Sally was loved by her many friends and was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. Sally's great joy in life was being "Nana" to her grandchildren and more recently to her great-grandchildren. Sally is survived by her son Randy (Jean) Beery of Fort Wayne; daughter Cynthia (Allan) Martin of Plymouth, MA; grandchildren Kait (Paul) Whitaker; Erich (Carylnn) Martin both of Denver, CO; and great-grandchildren Declan and McKinley Whitaker and Chesney Martin; along with cousins, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Morgan and Rhea Rowe and her loving husband William "Bill."
