Emily Carolyn Rowe Adler, 62, died at 11 AM Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1978, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been a patient since Sept. 2. Born at Thomaston, GA, she lived in Lexington, KY, for 20 years before coming to West Lafayette in 1969.
In 1952, she was married at Lexington to Jacob H. Adler, who is a professor and head of the English department at Purdue University.
Mrs. Adler was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, League of Women Voters, Purdue University Women's Club, and YMCA. She was also active with Meals on Wheels service.
Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Miss Jennifer Brooke Adler of Wichita, KS; a son, James Adler, a student at the University of Chicago; and a sister, Mrs. John Newman of LaGrange, GA.
