Born 1924, in Old Parish, Dungarvan, County Waterford, Ireland, Kathleen was the last living of five children of Bridget (French) and James Ryan. After practicing nursing in London during WW II, she immigrated to New York in 1948. Kathleen married Thomas Connery who died in 1987; they resided in Yonkers, NY, raising their family and active in Irish-American clubs and activities. She is survived by 8 children: Margaret Connery Dietz of Stamford; Kathleen Millard of Naples, FL; Mary Ellen Travis of Naples, FL; Josie McGann (Bill) of San Francisco, CA; Eileen Connery (Martin Borge) of Point Reyes Station, CA; Patricia Sowick (Chris) of McLean, VA; Tom Connery (Kathy) of Prescott, AZ; and Ann Marie Connery (Rick Gault) of Vienna, VA.
Kathleen was a beloved grandmother of 13, great-grandmother, "Momo", of 7 and "Auntie Kathleen" to adoring nieces and nephews in Ireland. Kathleen passed her love of Irish dance and music on to her children and their children and is known by many for her great sense of humor, lively spirit, gift of blarney and love of life.
Family and friends are invited to visit Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Rd. #3, Greenwich, CT on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at St. Clements Church, 535 Fairfield Ave., Stamford, CT at 10:00 A.M. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 399 North St., Greenwich, CT.
