Gerong Hee CollinsPrice, daughter of Hyon Ye Cho and Young Sub Sa, died April 9, 2011. She died of complications after a hemorrhagic stroke at the age of 62 and passed peacefully in her husband's arms. Gerong Hee, maiden name Sa, was born in Mokpo South Korea August 5, 1948. She graduated high school in Mokpo, learning Korean, Chinese and English, was in the choir and active in sports. After high school she spent time working in a shoe shop, doing accounting, physical therapy, and various jobs at a U.S. military base. She met her first husband while he was stationed in Korea and immigrated to the United States with him. She later remarried and settled in Inglewood, California. Gerong's greatest joy was her children. She loved knitting, cooking, researching words (etymology) and history, and taking road trips across the U.S. Gerong Hee is survived by her husband of 32 years, Stephen Price, her two children, her sister, half brothers, half sister and extended family. She battled severe illnesses for many years. May she now rest in peace. Funeral Services will be April 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church, 546 E.
