Elizabeth (Sabol) Balla, 85, of Pringle, passed into eternal life Wednesday morning, February 9, 2011, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following an illness. Born December 7, 1925, in Edwardsville, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Balogh) Sabol.

She was educated in the Kingston schools and graduated from the former Kingston High School.

She was a member of Saint Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Wilkes-Barre.

She previously worked for the former General Cigar Co. of Kingston. Later, she devoted her life to caring for her family.

She and her husband, John, celebrated 59 years of married life November 3, 2010.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Starosta, Helen, Margaret, Mildred and Anna Sabol; and by a brother, John Sabol.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, John, are their son, Wayne, both at home; her sister, Mrs. Olga Balla; niece, Sandra Balla; and great-nephew, Brian Balla, all of Manville, N.J.

Funeral services for Mrs. Balla will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Saint Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gary John Scharrer, pastor, officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to the church for services.

Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Midland Avenue, Dallas.

The John V. Morris Family is honored to care for Mrs. Balla and her family at this time.
