Irene M. Sabol, age 88, of Fort Walton Beach, FL. Went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 14, 2017, in a local health care facility. She was born on April 18, 1929, in Union Town, PA. to Michael and Anna Susa. Irene was Catholic by Faith and had been a faithful member all her life. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She has been part of the community since 1967. During her working years she worked for the U.S. Civil Service for over 42 years retiring in 1995. Most Civil Service employees would remember Irene as the Retirement Officer at Eglin AFB. Irene was an avid sports fan and especially loved and rooted for the Pittsburg Steelers. She also enjoyed gardening, nature, dancing, cooking and traveling TDY, and certainly a lover of pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, George Susa. Survivors include her loving husband, George Sabol of 60 years; sisters, Anna Mae Isper of Dayton, OH and Gloria Nahaj (Eugene) of Uniontown, PA; sister in law, Misako Susa; three nieces, Ann Susa, Joyce Barns (Thomas) and Jenny Susa; three nephews, Michael Susa and his children Michael Jr. and Kaitlin, Michael Isper (Andrea) , Eric Isper (Chris) and their children, Alex, Max and Zachary; Lauren Reed (Michael) and their children Hannah and Connor.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Avenue SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL.; Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM.; St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 110 St Mary Avenue SW, Fort Walton Beach, FL. Following the Mass, memorialization will be by cremation.
