Belle was the daughter of William and Catherine (Albright) Said. She came to Silver Lake Township in 1886 to teach school. Belle married Levi Alanzo Hill, son of John and Belinda (Cooper) Hill, in 1888. Levi and Belle had seven children: Glennie (married Oscar Frederick Suss) who is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven, Iowa, Floyd and Lloyd (twins), Vera (married Charles Frank Davis and they are buried in this cemetery), Fay, Melvin Levi and Harold.
