MUNCIE - Virginia Sanders, 80, passed away Monday morning, November 30, 2015 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 11, 1935 in Crawford, Tennessee the daughter of Clifford and Ada (Garrett) Smith.
Virginia enjoyed crafting and cooking but the joy of her life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Fairlawn Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children, Billy Wayne (Janet) Sanders, Gina (Rob) Pierce and Dave (Tonia) Sanders; one sister, Mary Ellen Clark; grandchildren, Christan Sanders, Nathan Sanders, Jason Pierce, Joe Norris, Rebecca Stamper, Allyson Stall, and Tiffany Sanders; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Billy Sanders, who passed away January 29, 2006.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, IN 47304 with her son-in-law, Rob Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Family and friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
