Lois was born May 29, 1929, in Colona, the daughter of August "Gus" and Frances (DePew) Sanders. She married her devoted husband, Earl George Poehls, in 1948 in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Lois was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, singing in the choir until recently joining Prince of Peace Church with her special friend, Zanta. As a child, she enjoyed swimming in the backyard canal and working alongside her father in his bait shop. She retired from the Davenport School District and worked at Hy-Vee, retiring at age, 81. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, crocheting, playing board games, bingo, cards and spending time with her family. Lois was a very kind and gentle soul. She had a loving and generous heart, always giving to others. She will be dearly missed.
