Imogene Askew, 87, of Tuscumbia, passed away, peacefully, at home on May 27, 2018. Imogene was born on March 7, 1931, to the late Richard and Annie Sanderson. She was the youngest daughter of nine children and seven preceded her in death. She married the late James D. Askew on December 11, 1948 and had 3 daughters. She was a member of Mhoontown Methodist Church for over 60 years. She loved reading her bible, praying with others and her family.
She is survived by daughters, Kay Handley, Gail VonBoeckman (Mike) and Carol Bush; brother, Charles Ray Sanderson; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 1 – 3 p.m. at Mhoontown Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Dwight Rivers will be officiating. Interment will be at Mhoontown Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kelvin Handley, Chris VonBoeckman, Allen Handley, Phillip VonBoeckman, Brad Bush and David McCafferty. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Bratton, Sabian Bush and Zachary Seals.
