Hazel J. Sanderson, of Cherokee, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Barton First Baptist Church. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at the church. Interment will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery. Dr. Frank Whitaker will officiate.
She was a native of Colbert County and a member of Barton First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sanderson, and her parents, Ebra and Lilie Thompson.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry R. Sanderson (Alice) and Larry D. Sanderson (Sue); daughters, Linda S. Fair (James), Sandra J. Barnes (Jerry), Shirley J. Marlar and Lisa R. Gregg (Chris); brothers, Charles H. Thompson and Bobby E. Thompson; and sister, Betty J. Malone; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
