Funeral for Ruth Sanderson Bass, 91, of Hillsboro will be Saturday, July 29, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Summerford and Bro. James Cotton officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bass, who died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton, was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Town Creek to Fernando Paul Sanderson and Rosa Lisby Sanderson. She was retired from AmSouth Bank where she worked for 31 years. She was a member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church and a member of Women's Business Club, Embroidery Club and Garden Club. Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Bass; one sister, Lutie Lundy; and two brothers, Wallace Sanderson and Emmett Sanderson.
Survivors include one son, Kendall Bass and his wife, Doris, of Decatur; two grandsons, Jeff Bass and his wife, Mindy, of Alabaster and Bart Bass and his wife, Valerie, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; five great grandchildren; and one niece, Kathy Tromblay of Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
