ESSIE LOU SANDERSON ALLEN, 80, Deatsville, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, J.C. Allen, Jr. and her son Bobby Ray Allen.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 10 a.m. from the Brookside Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Cooper Cemetery. Rev. Les Snodgrass and Rev. Walter Ace were the officiating ministers.
Survivors include her daughter - Glenda (Ronnie) Freeman, Deatsville; sons - Jim L. (Susan) and David C. (Angel) Allen both of Wetumpka and Dr. Stephen (Ann Marie) Allen, Tuscaloosa; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers were grandsons, Ronnie Jr., Jon and Matt Freeman, Rusty, Jacob and Andrew Allen, Jody Upchurch and Jimmy L. Caro.
Brookside Funeral Home of Millbrook directed the services.
